Project Brief
The brief for the Marina Drive Apartments was to design a boutique medium-density apartment on the banks of the Swan River. Dynamic architectural features and a grand entrance help to establish an apartment property that is situated on a corner block.
Design Elements
Marina Drive Apartment’s design began with a building envelope of similar mass and scale to its neighbouring buildings. A key aesthetic consideration in the design was drawing references to the prominent red brick stacks, directly to the North East of the subject site. Three red brick elements spanning the full height of the building and are integrated into the Marina Drive elevation. The most significant marks the building entry with two tapering red brick walls piercing the roof form. The proposed building has a defined dark base designed to complement and reinforce the existing sandstone block fencing which is characteristic throughout the Ascot Waters development.
